وَنَاهُ هَارُونُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْمُسْتَمْلِيُّ، نَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ عِكْرِمَةَ، نَا هِشَامٌ وَابْنُ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

اخْتَصَمَ آدَمُ وَمُوسَى، فَقَالَ لَهُ مُوسَى: أَنْتَ آدَمُ الَّذِي أَشْقَيْتَ النَّاسَ وَأَخْرَجْتَهُمْ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ. فَقَالَ آدَمُ: أَنْتَ مُوسَى الَّذِي اصْطَفَاكَ اللهُ بِرِسَالَاتِهِ وَبِكَلِمَاتِهِ، وَأَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكَ التَّوْرَاةَ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ. قَالَ: فَوَجَدْتَهُ قَضَى ذَلِكَ عَلَيَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَنِي ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ. قَالَ: فَحَجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى، فَحَجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى - ثَلَاثًا

Translation

✧ Adam and Musa disputed. Musa said to him: “Are you Adam, who made people miserable and expelled them from the Garden?” Adam said: “Are you Musa, whom Allah chose with His messages and His words, and upon whom He sent down the Torah?” He said: “Yes.” He said: “Did you find that He decreed that upon me before He created me?” He said: “Yes.” He said: “Then Adam defeated Musa in argument. Adam defeated Musa in argument” — three times.
