حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ أَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ الْخِرِّيتِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ:

خَطَبَنَا ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَوْمًا بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَبَدَتِ النُّجُومُ وَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يُنَادُونَهُ الصَّلَاةَ الصَّلَاةَ، وَفِي الْقَوْمِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: تُعْلِمُنِي بِالسُّنَّةِ لَا أُمَّ لَكَ، إِنِّي شَهِدْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ. قَالَ: فَلَقِيتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ فَوَافَقَهُ

Translation

✧ Ibn 'Abbas once addressed us after 'Asr until the sun set and the stars appeared, and the people began calling out to him: 'The prayer, the prayer.' Among the people was a man from Banu Tamim. Ibn 'Abbas said: 'Are you teaching me the Sunnah, woe to you? I witnessed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ combining Zuhr and 'Asr, and Maghrib and 'Isha'.' He said: 'Then I met Abu Hurayrah, and he concurred with him.'
