✧ What Muhammad b. Abi Bakr narrated from his father Abu Bakr

95 6 (م) - وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ الْخَضِرِ الْعَطَّارُ قَالَ: نَا سَعْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ قَالَ:

سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ؓ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِنَحْوِ حَدِيثِ عَلِيٍّ الَّذِي رَوَاهُ أَسْمَاءُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ. وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُ يُرْوَى عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِلَّا بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ الَّذِي ذَكَرْنَا، وَالْإِسْنَادَانِ جَمِيعًا مَعْلُولَانِ، أَمَّا أَسْمَاءُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ فَرَجُلٌ مَجْهُولٌ لَمْ يُحَدِّثْ بِغَيْرِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، وَلَمْ يُحَدِّثْ عَنْهُ غَيْرُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، وَلَا يُحْتَجُّ بِكُلِّ مَا كَانَ هَكَذَا مِنَ الْأَحَادِيثِ عَلَى أَنَّ شُعْبَةَ قَدْ شَكَّ فِي اسْمِهِ، وَأَمَّا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ فَرَجُلٌ مُنْكَرُ الْحَدِيثِ لَا يَخْتَلِفُ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ بِالنَّقْلِ فِي ضَعْفِ حَدِيثِهِ، فَلَا يَجِبُ أَنْ يُتَّخَذَ حُجَّةً فِيمَا يَنْفَرِدُ بِهِ وَمَا يُشَارِكُهُ الثِّقَاتُ فَقَدِ اسْتَغْنَيْنَا بِرِوَايَةِ الثِّقَاتِ عَنْ رِوَايَتِهِ. <متن_مخفي ربط="19000951" نص="كُنْتُ امْرَأً إِذَا سَمِعْتُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حَدِيثًا نَفَعَنِي اللهُ مِنْهُ بِمَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَنْفَعَنِي وَإِذَا

✧ I heard ʿAlī b. Abī Tālib ؓ narrating from Abū Bakr al-Siddīq, may Allah have mercy on him, from the Prophet ﷺ, similar to the hadith of ʿAlī that Asmāʾ b. al-Hakam narrated. We do not know this hadith to be reported from the Prophet ﷺ except through this chain we mentioned. Both chains are defective. As for Asmāʾ b. al-Hakam, he is an unknown man who narrated only this hadith, and none narrated from him except ʿAlī b. Rabīʿah. One cannot rely on every hadith like this, especially since Shuʿbah doubted his name. As for ʿAbd Allah b. Saʿīd, he is a man of rejected hadith; scholars of transmission do not differ about the weakness of his hadith. Therefore, it is not obligatory to take him as proof in what he alone narrates.
