حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، نَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، نَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:
جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ زَوْجِي طَلَّقَنِي، وَإِنَّهُ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَنْتَزِعَ مِنِّي ابْنِي، وَقَدِ اسْتَقَى لِي مِنْ بِئْرٍ أَبِي عِنَبَةَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: يَا غُلَامُ، هَذِهِ أُمُّكَ، وَهَذَا أَبُوكَ، فَخَيَّرَهُ بَيْنَ أَبِيهِ وَأُمِّهِ

✧ A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: O Messenger of God, my husband has divorced me, and he wants to take my son away from me, and he has drawn water for me from the well of Abu 'Inabah. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: O boy, this is your mother, and this is your father, and he gave him the choice between his father and his mother.
