حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، نَا مُسَدَّدٌ، نَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ وَأَحْسَبُ أَنَّ أَبَا كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَاهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:

شَكَى رَجُلٌ أَعْمَى إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ذَهَابَ بَصَرِهِ، وَأَنَّهُ لَيْسَ لَهُ قَائِدٌ: فَهَلْ لِي رُخْصَةٌ أَلَّا آتِيَ الصَّلَاةَ ؟ فَأَذِنَ لَهُ، ثُمَّ دَعَاهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: أَتَسْمَعُ النِّدَاءَ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ. قَالَ: أَجِبْ.

✧ A blind man complained to the Messenger of God ﷺ about the loss of his eyesight and that he had no one to lead him: “Is there any dispensation for me not to attend the prayer?” So he permitted him. Then he called him and the Messenger of God ﷺ said to him: “Do you hear the call?” He said: “Yes.” He said: “Then answer it.”
