✧ The Meccans from Abu Hurayrah: what Ata' b. Abi Rabah narrated from him

وَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، نَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، نَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:

إِذَا كُنْتَ إِمَامًا فَخَفِّفْ ; فَإِنَّ فِي النَّاسِ الْكَبِيرَ وَالضَّعِيفَ وَذَا الْحَاجَةِ. وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: أَبْرِدُوا بِالصَّلَاةِ ; فَإِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ

Translation

✧ When you are an imam, keep it light, for among the people are the elderly, the weak, and those with needs. And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Make the prayer cool, for the intensity of heat is from the scorching breath of Hell.'
