حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، نَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى، نَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ:
ذُكِرَ - أَوْ ذَكَرْنَا - لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: كَمْ مَضَى مِنَ الشَّهْرِ ؟ قُلْنَا: مَضَى اثْنَانِ وَعِشْرُونَ وَبَقِيَ ثَمَانٍ، قَالَ: لَا، بَلْ بَقِيَ سَبْعٌ، قُلْنَا: لَا، بَلَى بَقِيَ ثَمَانٍ. قَالَ: لَا، بَلْ بَقِيَ سَبْعٌ ; الشَّهْرُ تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ
Translation

✧ The Night of Decree was mentioned - or we mentioned it - in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'How much of the month has passed?' We said: 'Twenty-two have passed and eight remain.' He said: 'No, rather seven remain.' We said: 'No, indeed eight remain.' He said: 'No, rather seven remain; the month is twenty-nine.'
