حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ: نَا اللَّيْثُ قَالَ: نَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زُرَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ:
أُهْدِيَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بَغْلَةٌ فَأَعْجَبَتْهُ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ: لَوْ أَنْزَيْنَا الْحُمُرَ عَلَى خَيْلِنَا جَاءَتْ بِمِثْلِ هَذِهِ فَقَالَ: إِنَّمَا يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ

✧ A mule was gifted to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and it pleased him. I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, if we were to mate the donkeys with our horses, they would produce something like this.' He said, 'Only those who do not understand would do that.'
