حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِسْكِينِ بْنِ نُمَيْلَةَ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ: نَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

لَقِيَ مُوسَى آدَمَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِمَا فَقَالَ أَنْتَ آدَمُ الَّذِي أَخْرَجْتَ النَّاسَ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ فَقَالَ لَهُ آدَمُ: أَنْتَ مُوسَى الَّذِي اصْطَفَاكَ اللهُ بِرِسَالَتِهِ وَبِكَلَامِهِ فَكَيْفَ تَلُومُنِي عَلَى عَمَلٍ كَتَبَهُ اللهُ عَلَيَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَنِي ! قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: فَحَجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى

✧ Musa met Adam, peace be upon them both, and said: You are Adam who brought people out of Paradise. Adam said to him: You are Musa whom Allah chose with His message and His speech, so how can you blame me for a deed Allah decreed for me before He created me? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: So Adam out-argued Musa.
