حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ قَالَ: نَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ

كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ: اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيِّنَا وَمَيِّتِنَا وَشَاهِدِنَا وَغَائِبِنَا وَصَغِيرِنَا وَكَبِيرِنَا وَذَكَرِنَا وَأُنْثَانَا، اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ أَحْيَيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَأَحْيِهِ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ، وَمَنْ تَوَفَّيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَتَوَفَّهُ عَلَى الْإِيمَانِ

Translation

✧ He used to say in the funeral prayer: O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, our present and our absent, our young and our old, our male and our female. O Allah, whomever You keep alive among us, keep him alive upon Islam, and whomever You cause to die among us, cause him to die upon faith.
