✧ Safwan b. al-Mu'attal asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'Are there any hours of the night or day in which prayer is disliked?' He said: 'Yes; when you have prayed the dawn prayer, then abstain from prayer until the sun rises, for it rises between the two horns of a devil. Then pray, and the prayer is witnessed and accepted until the sun is directly above your head like a spear. When it is above your head like a spear, then abstain from prayer, for that is the hour in which Hell is stoked and its gates are opened, until the sun declines from your right eyebrow. When it declines or passes the meridian, then prayer is attended and accepted until you pray the afternoon prayer. Then abstain from prayer until the sun sets.'
