machine translationI think that al-Ḥajjāj b. Arṭāh made a mistake in its chain of narration (isnād). Rather, Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh b. Abī Yaʿqūb narrated it with a chain of his from al-Ḥasan b. Saʿd, from Rabāḥ, from ʿUthmān.
in مسند البزار, p. 836 - Dāraquṭnī
machine translationAl-Dāraquṭnī was asked about it and said: Mahdī b. Maymūn and Jarīr b. Ḥāzim narrated it from Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh b. Abī Yaʿqūb, from al-Ḥasan b. Saʿd, from Rabāḥ, from ʿUthmān. Ḥajjāj b. Arṭāh contradicted them, so he narrated it from al-Ḥasan b. Saʿd, from his father, and he traced the hadith back to ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib, from the Prophet ﷺ. The first account is more sound (aṣaḥḥ).

machine translationAl-Ḥasan b. Saʿd narrated it, and there is disagreement about him. Mahdī b.
