حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ: نَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عِيسَى قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ; أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ:
لَهَمَمْتُ أَنْ تُقَامَ الصَّلَاةُ ثُمَّ آمُرُ رَجُلًا فَيُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ ثُمَّ أُخَالِفُ إِلَى أَقْوَامٍ لَا يَشْهَدُونَ الصَّلَاةَ فَأُحَرِّقُ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَلَوْ جُعِلَ لِأَحَدِهِمْ عَرْقٌ سَمِينٌ أَوْ مِرْمَاتَانِ لَشَهِدَ

✧ I was about to order that the prayer be established, then order a man to lead the people in prayer, then I would go off to some people who do not attend the prayer and burn them. If any one of them had been offered a fat bone or two trotters, he would have attended.
