حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ بُنْدَارٌ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ: نَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ;
أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ لِي قَرَابَةً أَصِلُهُمْ وَيَقْطَعُونِي وَأُحْسِنُ إِلَيْهِمْ وَيُسِيئُونَ إِلَيَّ وَأَحْلُمُ عَنْهُمْ وَيَجْهَلُونَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: لَئِنْ كَانَ كَمَا تَقُولُ لَكَأَنَّمَا تُسِفُّهُمُ الْمَلَّ، وَلَا يَزَالُ مَعَكَ مِنَ اللهِ ظَهِيرًا مَا دُمْتَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ

✧ A man said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have relatives whom I maintain ties with but they cut me off; I am good to them but they are bad to me; I am forbearing with them but they are ignorant.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'If it is as you say, it is as if you are feeding them hot ashes, and Allah will remain your supporter as long as you continue in that.'
