حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: نَا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ، قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:
جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ بِهَا لَمَمٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، ادْعُ اللهَ لِي. فَقَالَ: إِنْ شِئْتِ دَعَوْتُ اللهَ لَكِ فَشَفَاكِ، وَإِنْ شِئْتِ صَبَرْتِ وَلَا حِسَابَ عَلَيْكِ، قَالَتْ: بَلَى أَصْبِرُ وَلَا حِسَابَ عَلَيَّ
Translation

✧ A woman suffering from madness came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, supplicate to Allah for me.' He said: 'If you wish, I will supplicate to Allah for you and He will heal you; and if you wish, you will be patient and there will be no reckoning against you.' She said: 'Rather, I will be patient and there will be no reckoning against me.'
