✧ In the year of the conquest, he stood at al-Hajun and said: By Allah, you are the best of Allah's land and the most beloved of Allah's land to Allah, and had I not been expelled from you, I would not have left. It was not made lawful for anyone before me, nor will it be made lawful for anyone after me. It was only made lawful for me for an hour of a day, then it is sacred at this hour of mine: its trees are not to be cut down, its herbage is not to be uprooted, and its lost property is not to be picked up except by one who announces it. He said: A man said—and people claimed he was Abbas—O Messenger of Allah, except for idhkhir, for it is for our houses, our graves, and our furnaces. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Except for idhkhir.
