✧ While I was sleeping, I saw myself at the top of a well with a bucket on it. I drew water as much as Allah willed. Then Ibn Abi Quhafah took it and drew one or two buckets, and there was weakness in his drawing, and Allah will forgive him. Then the bucket turned into a large one, and 'Umar took it. I have never seen a master among the people draw water like 'Umar's drawing, until the people watered their camels to their fill.

  • Qurṭubī

machine translationHis saying "a bucket (dhanūb) or two buckets" is a doubt on the part of one of the narrators. It has come without doubt as "two buckets" in the other narration, and that is better.
