✧ That a man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I saw as if a canopy was dripping with ghee and honey, and the people were between those taking much and those taking little. And behold, a rope reaching from the sky to the earth. Then you came, O Messenger of Allah, and took hold of it and ascended, and Allah elevated you. Then another man took hold of it and ascended by it. Then another man took hold of it and ascended by it. Then another man took hold of it, and it broke with him, then it was joined for him and he ascended by it.' Abu Bakr said: 'O Messenger of Allah, by my father and mother, let me interpret it.' He said: 'Interpret it.' He said: 'As for the canopy, it is the canopy of Islam. As for what was dripping of ghee and honey, it is the Quran and its sweetness. As for those taking much and those taking little, they are those who take much of the Quran and those who take little. As for the rope reaching from the sky to the earth, it is the truth that you are upon, so take hold of it and Allah will elevate you. Then after you a man will take hold of it and ascend by it. Then after him another man will take hold of it and ascend by it. Then another man will take hold of it and it will break, then it will be joined for him and he will ascend.' He said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.'
