حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ السَّكَنِ، نَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، نَا عَوْنُ بْنُ كَهْمَسٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ دِرْهَمٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ فِي هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ إِنَّا كَفَيْنَاكَ الْمُسْتَهْزِئِينَ الَّذِينَ يَجْعَلُونَ مَعَ اللهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ قَالَ: مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَغَمَزَ بَعْضُهُمْ، فَجَاءَ جِبْرِيلُ أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ: فَغَمَزَهُمْ فَوَقَعَ فِي أَجْسَادِهِمْ كَهَيْئَةِ الطَّعْنَةِ حَتَّى مَاتُوا

✧ I heard Anas say regarding this verse: 'Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers who set up another god with God': The Messenger of God ﷺ passed by and some of them winked at him. Then Jibrīl came—I think he said—and winked at them, and something like a stab wound appeared in their bodies until they died.
