حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُسْتَمِرِّ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ;

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ ضَرَبَ مَثَلَ الْإِنْسَانِ وَالْأَجَلِ وَالْأَمَلِ فَقَالَ: مَثَلُ الْأَجَلِ إِلَى جَانِبِهِ وَالْأَمَلِ أَمَامَهُ، فَبَيْنَا هُوَ يَأْمُلُ أَمَامَهُ إِذْ أَتَاهُ أَجَلُهُ فَاخْتَطَفَهُ

Translation

✧ The Prophet of Allah ﷺ gave a parable of man, the appointed term, and hope, saying: “The appointed term is at his side, and hope is in front of him. While he is hoping ahead, his term comes to him and snatches him away.”
