وَبِهِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ خَطَبَ أَصْحَابَهُ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ وَقَدْ كَادَتِ الشَّمْسُ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ، فَلَمْ يَبْقَ مِنْهَا إِلَّا يَسِيرٌ، فَقَالَ: وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، مَا بَقِيَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا فِيمَا مَضَى مِنْهَا إِلَّا كَمَا بَقِيَ مِنْ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا فِيمَا مَضَى مِنْهُ، وَمَا نَرَى مِنَ الشَّمْسِ إِلَّا يَسِيرًا

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave a sermon to his companions one day when the sun was about to set and only a little of it remained. He said: By the One in whose hand is my soul, what remains of this world compared to what has passed of it is only like what remains of this day of yours compared to what has passed of it. We see only a little of the sun.
