✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was at al-Zawra' when a vessel containing water that covered his fingers, or about enough to cover his fingers, was brought to him. He ordered his companions to perform ablution. He placed his palm in the vessel, and we began to see water gushing from between his fingers until the people performed ablution. We said to Anas: How many were you? He said: Three hundred, or about three hundred.

machine translationSaʿīd b. Abī ʿArūbah narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. It was narrated from Makkī b. Ibrāhīm, from Saʿīd, from Qatādah, from al-Ḥasan, from Anas; Aḥmad b. al-Ḥubāb al-Ḥimyarī said this from Makkī, and it is not preserved (maḥfūẓ). Yazīd b. Zurayʿ, al-Bursānī and Ghundar contradicted him: they narrated it from Shuʿbah, from Qatādah, from Anas, without al-Ḥasan in it, and this is the correct version.
