نَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ، نَا سَلَّامُ بْنُ أَبِي الصَّهْبَاءِ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ:
كَانَتْ بَرِيرَةُ أَمَةً فَأُعْتِقَتْ، فَتُصُدِّقَ عَلَيْهَا بِصَدَقَةٍ، فَقُرِّبَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِنْ تِلْكَ الصَّدَقَةِ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّهُ مِمَّا تُصُدِّقَ بِهِ عَلَى بَرِيرَةَ، قَالَ: هُوَ لَهَا صَدَقَةٌ وَلَنَا هَدِيَّةٌ
Translation

✧ Barirah was a slave woman, then she was freed. She was given charity, and some of that charity was brought to the Prophet ﷺ. It was said to him: O Messenger of God, this is from what was given as charity to Barirah. He said: For her it is charity, and for us it is a gift.
