حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ بَحْرٍ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، نَا سَيَّارُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، نَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ:

أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ سَفَرًا فَزَوِّدْنِي، فَقَالَ: زَوَّدَكَ اللهُ التَّقْوَى قَالَ: زِدْنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: وَغَفَرَ ذَنْبَكَ، قَالَ: زِدْنِي بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: وَوَجَّهَكَ لِلْخَيْرِ حَيْثُمَا كُنْتَ

Translation

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I intend to travel, so provide me with provisions.' He said: 'May Allah provide you with piety.' He said: 'Give me more, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'And may He forgive your sin.' He said: 'Give me more, by my father and mother, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'And may He direct you to good wherever you are.'
