حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي الْحَارِثِ، نَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْعَمِّيُّ، نَا ثَابِتٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ:
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كَثِيرًا مَا يَقُولُ: أَتَعْجَزُونَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا مِثْلَ أَبِي ضَمْضَمٍ ؟ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا أَبُو ضَمْضَمٍ ؟ قَالَ: كَانَ رَجُلٌ قَبْلَنَا، فَكَانَ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ يَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَتَصَدَّقُ بِعِرْضِي عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَنِي

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ often said, “Are you unable to be like Abu Damdam?” They said, “O Messenger of God, who is Abu Damdam?” He said, “He was a man before us. When morning came, he would say: O God, I give my honor as charity to whoever wrongs me.”
