Translation
✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out for Madinah, Abū Bakr — may Allah have mercy on him — was riding behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Abū Bakr ؓ had been to Syria and was known, while the Prophet ﷺ was not known. They would say to Abū Bakr: 'Who is this in front of you?' He would say: 'This is the one who guides the way.' When they drew near to Madinah, he sent word to the Anṣār, and they came. Anas said: 'I have never seen a day more beautiful or more radiant than the day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon us, nor a day more ugly or darker than the day he died ﷺ.'
