حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، نَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

أَرْحَمُ أُمَّتِي بِأُمَّتِي: أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَأَشَدُّهُمْ فِي دِينِ اللهِ: عُمَرُ، وَأَصْدَقُهُمْ حَيَاءً: عُثْمَانُ، وَأَعْلَمُهُمْ بِالْحَلَالِ وَالْحَرَامِ: مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ، وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَمِينٌ وَأَمِينُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ: أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ

Translation

✧ The most merciful of my nation to my nation is Abu Bakr, and the strictest of them in the religion of Allah is 'Umar, and the most truthful in modesty of them is 'Uthman, and the most learned of them regarding the lawful and the unlawful is Mu'adh b. Jabal, and every nation has a trustworthy one, and the trustworthy one of this nation is Abu 'Ubaydah b. al-Jarrah.
