حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْمَسْرُوقِيُّ، نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، نَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ:
قَضَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الطَّرِيقِ الْمِيتَاءِ الَّذِي يُؤْتَى مِنْ كُلِّ مَكَانٍ إِذَا تَشَاجَرَ أَهْلُهُ فِيهِ فَإِنَّ عَرْضَهُ سَبْعَةُ أَذْرُعٍ، وَقَضَى أَنَّ مَا أَحَطْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ فَهُوَ لَكُمْ وَمَا لَمْ يُحِيطُوا عَلَيْهِ فَهُوَ لِلهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled regarding the well-trodden road that is approached from every direction: when its people dispute over it, its width is seven cubits. And he ruled that what you enclose is yours, and what they do not enclose belongs to Allah and His Messenger.
