✧ 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Awf came to Madinah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ established brotherhood between him and Sa'd b. al-Rabi'. He offered to him—I think he said his wealth—so he said: 'May Allah bless you in your family and wealth. Direct me to the market.' So he entered the market and profited from aqit and ghee. The Prophet ﷺ saw him after some days with traces of yellow perfume on him and said: 'Mahyam, O 'Abd al-Rahman?' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I married a woman from the Ansar.' He said: 'What did you give her as a bridal gift?' He said: 'The weight of a date stone of gold.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Hold a wedding feast, even with a sheep.'
