✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ established brotherhood between Quraysh and the Ansar. He made brothers of Sa'd b. al-Rabi' and 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Awf. Sa'd said to me: 'I have wealth, and it is between me and you in two halves, and I have two wives; look, whichever of them is dearer to you, I will divorce her, and when her waiting period ends, marry her.' He said: 'May Allah bless you in your family and wealth. Direct me to the market.' So he directed him, and he did not return until he came back with dates and aqit. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw traces of yellow perfume on him and said: 'Mahyam?' He said: 'I married a woman from the Ansar.' He said: 'What did you give her as a bridal gift?' He said: 'The weight of a date stone of gold.' He said: 'Hold a wedding feast, even with a sheep.'
