وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ;
أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقَ ؓ دَخَلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ كَئِيبٌ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ، مَا لِي أَرَاكَ كَئِيبًا ؟ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، كُنْتُ عِنْدَ ابْنِ عَمِّي فُلَانٍ الْبَارِحَةَ وَهُوَ يَكِيدُ بِنَفْسِهِ، قَالَ: فَهَلَّا لَقَّنْتَهُ: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ ؟ قَالَ: قَدْ لَقَّنْتُهُ، قَالَ: فَقَالَهَا ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَكَيْفَ هِيَ لِلْأَحْيَاءِ ؟ قَالَ: هِيَ أَهْدَمُ، هِيَ أَهْدَمُ، هِيَ أَهْدَمُ - ثَلَاثًا - لِذُنُوبِهِمْ.
Translation
✧ Abu Bakr al-Siddiq ؓ entered upon the Prophet ﷺ while he was distressed. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'O Abu Bakr, why do I see you distressed?' He said: 'O Messenger of God, I was with my cousin so-and-so last night, and he was in the throes of death.' He said: 'Did you not prompt him to say: There is no god but God?' He said: 'I did prompt him.' He said: 'Did he say it?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Paradise is guaranteed for him.' Abu Bakr said: 'O Messenger of God, then how is it for the living?' He said: 'It is more destructive, it is more destructive, it is more destructive – three times – for their sins.'
