machine translationʿAbd al-Aʿlā al-Taghlibī narrates it from Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, and there is disagreement about him. Isrāʾīl and Abān b. Taghlib narrated it from ʿAbd al-Aʿlā and traced it back to the Prophet ﷺ (marfūʿ). But al-Thawrī contradicted them, and narrated it from ʿAbd al-Aʿlā, from Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from ʿAlī, as a statement stopping at him (mawqūf). It seems that the disagreement originates from ʿAbd al-Aʿlā.
