✧ From the hadith of Salim from b. Umar

وَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمِيمِيُّ، نَا مَرْحُومُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْعَطَّارُ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، وَأَنَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ السَّائِلِ- عَنْ صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ، قَالَ: مَثْنَى مَثْنَى، فَإِذَا أَحْسَسْتَ، أَوْ خَشِيتَ الصُّبْحَ فَاجْعَلْ آخِرَ صَلَاتِكَ وِتْرًا

✧ That a man asked the Prophet ﷺ - while I was between him and the questioner - about the night prayer. He said: "Two by two, and when you sense or fear the approach of dawn, make the last of your prayer a witr."
