حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَا: نَا قُطْبَةُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْمِنْهَالِ، نَا سُفْيَانُ، يَعْنِي الثَّوْرِيَّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

مَا ذِئْبَانِ ضَارِيَانِ فِي حَظِيرَةٍ يَأْكُلَانِ وَيُفْسِدَانِ بِأَضَرَّ فِيهَا مِنْ حُبِّ الشَّرَفِ وَحُبِّ الْمَالِ فِي دِينِ الْمَرْءِ الْمُسْلِمِ.

✧ Two hungry wolves in a sheepfold, eating and causing corruption, are not more harmful to it than the love of honor and the love of wealth are to the religion of a Muslim man.
