✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ sent a man from the Ansar on a military expedition and ordered them to obey him. When he went out, he became angry with them over something and said: Did not the Messenger of God ﷺ order you to obey me? They said: Yes. He said: Gather firewood. They gathered firewood, then he called for fire and set it ablaze in the wood, then said: I adjure you to enter it. The people were about to do that when a young man among their youngest said to them: Do not rush to enter the fire; you only fled to the Messenger of God ﷺ from the fire. Wait until you come to the Messenger of God ﷺ; if he orders you to enter, then enter. So they came to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned that to him. He said: Had you entered it, you would never have come out of it.
