حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي شُعَيْبٍ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ قَالَ:
كُنْتُ عِنْدَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَجَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنِ التَّمَتُّعِ بِالْعُمْرَةِ إِلَى الْحَجِّ، فَقَالَ: حَسَنٌ لَا بَأْسَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ أَبَاكَ كَانَ يَنْهَى عَنْهَا، فَغَضِبَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ، وَقَالَ: بِأَمْرِ رَسُولِ اللهِ نَأْخُذُ

✧ I was with Ibn Umar when a man came and asked him about tamattu' (combining 'umrah with hajj). He said: “It is fine; there is no harm in it.” The man said: “But your father used to forbid it.” Ibn Umar became angry and said: “We follow the command of the Messenger of Allah.”
