حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ سَيَّارٍ أَبِي الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، قَالَ:
جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عَلِيٍّ ؓ، فَقَالَ: أَعِنِّي فِي مُكَاتَبَتِي، فَقَالَ: أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ عَلَّمَنِيهِنَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَيْكَ مِثْلُ جَبَلِ صِيرٍ دَيْنًا لَأَدَّاهُ اللهُ عَنْكَ ؟ قُلِ: اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَنْ مَنْ سِوَاكَ
Translation

✧ A man came to ʿAlī ؓ and said: Help me with my mukātaba (contract of manumission). He said: Shall I not teach you words that the Messenger of God ﷺ taught me? If you had a debt like Mount Ṣīr, God would pay it off for you. Say: O God, suffice me with what You have made lawful against what You have made unlawful, and enrich me by Your bounty from all besides You.
