machine translationAl-Aʿmash narrates it from ʿAdī b. Thābit, from Zirr, from ʿAlī; the students of al-Aʿmash narrated it from him in this way. There is disagreement about Wakīʿ: al-Sarī b. Ḥayyān narrated it from Wakīʿ, from al-Aʿmash, from ʿAmr b. Murrah, from Abū l-Bakhtarī, from ʿAlī, and he erred in it. The correct version is from Wakīʿ and others, from al-Aʿmash, from ʿAdī b. Thābit, from Zirr. Mūsā b. Ismāʿīl al-Jabalī also narrated it from Ibn al-Mubārak, from al-Aʿmash, from ʿĀṣim, from Zirr, from ʿAlī, and he erred in it as well. The correct version is the hadith of ʿAdī b. Thābit.
