✧ We used to refrain from asking forgiveness for those who commit major sins until we heard our Prophet ﷺ say: “Indeed, Allah does not forgive that partners be associated with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whomever He wills.” And he said: “I have delayed my intercession for the people of major sins among my community on the Day of Resurrection.”

machine translationNo one narrates this from Ayyūb with this chain except Ḥarb b. Surayj, and he does not have many hadiths. It is as though his hadiths are rare reports (gharāʾib) and solitary narrations (afrād), and I hope that there is no harm in him (lā baʾs bihi).
