machine translationThis hadith was narrated by Hishām, from Muḥammad, from ʿAbīdah, from ʿAlī (may God be pleased with him), and it is not known from anyone other than ʿAlī (may God be pleased with him). Abū Dāwūd al-Ḥafarī did not trace it back (musnad) from Ibn Abī Zā'idah, from al-Thawrī. Ibn ʿAwn also narrated this hadith, but none traced it back except Ibn ʿArʿarah, from Azhar, from Ibn ʿAwn, from Muḥammad, from ʿAbīdah, from ʿAlī (may God be pleased with him). Bishr b. Ādam, the son of Azhar's daughter, brought it out to me from the original book of Azhar, and in it was: from Ibn ʿAwn, from Muḥammad, from ʿAbīdah, as a mursal report. Likewise the hadith "Fāṭimah (may God be pleased with her) came" is also mursal, although Ziyād b. Yaḥyā narrated to us the hadith of Fāṭimah from Muḥammad, from ʿAbīdah, from ʿAlī (may God be pleased with him).
