حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ كَرَامَةَ، نَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

إِذَا كَانُوا ثَلَاثَةً، فَلَا يَتَنَاجَى اثْنَانِ دُونَ الثَّالِثِ

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Muḥammad b. ʿUthmān b. Karāmah
  2. ʿUbaydullāh b. Mūsá
  3. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿĀmir
  4. Nāfiʿ
  5. Ibn ʿUmar
  6. al-Nabī ﷺ

✧ When they are three, two should not hold secret conversation to the exclusion of the third.
