وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ: حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

الْمِنْحَةُ مَرْدُودَةٌ، وَالنَّاسُ عَلَى شُرُوطِهِمْ مَا وَافَقَ الْحَقَّ

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Muḥammad b. al-Muthanná
  2. Muḥammad b. al-Ḥārith
  3. Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman
  4. his father
  5. Ibn ʿUmar
  6. Rasūl Allāh ﷺ

✧ The gift given for temporary use is to be returned, and people are bound by their conditions as long as they agree with the truth.
