✧ You will enlist armies. A man said: "O Messenger of God, choose for me." He said: "You should go to Syria, for it is God's chosen land from among His lands, and in it is God's chosen ones from among His servants. Whoever turns away from that, let him join his Najd, for God has guaranteed me Syria and its people."

machine translationNāfiʿ narrated it from Ibn ʿUmar, and Sālim and Nāfiʿ differed concerning it from Ibn ʿUmar. Sālim said: from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ. Nāfiʿ said: from Ibn ʿUmar, from Kaʿb, as his own saying. Sālim is of higher standing than Nāfiʿ, yet the narration of Nāfiʿ is more likely to be correct.
