حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، قَالَ: نَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ: نَا الْجَعْدُ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَرْوِيهِ قَالَ:

مَنْ هَمَّ بِحَسَنَةٍ فَاكْتُبُوهَا لَهُ حَسَنَةً، فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا فَاكْتُبُوهَا لَهُ عَشْرًا، فَإِنْ هَمَّ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَلَا تَكْتُبُوهَا، فَإِنْ تَرَكَهَا فَاكْتُبُوهَا لَهُ حَسَنَةً، وَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا فَاكْتُبُوهَا سَيِّئَةً

Translation

✧ Whoever intends a good deed, write it for him as one good deed. If he performs it, write it for him as ten. And whoever intends an evil deed, do not write it. If he leaves it, write it for him as one good deed, and if he performs it, write it as one evil deed.
