✧ "I acquired a she-camel on the day of Badr, and he gave me ؓ." He said: "I acquired a she-camel, and I made it kneel at the door of a man from the Ansar, intending to load upon the two of them idhkhir (a kind of grass) to sell it, and with me was a goldsmith from Banu Qaynuqa', and I intended to seek his help for the wedding feast of Fatimah. Hamzah b. 'Abd al-Muttalib was in the house drinking, and a singing-girl was singing to him: 'Abu Hamzah, possessor of the high honors.'" He said: "He charged at the two of them with the sword and slit open their sides, and he took some of their livers." He said: "I said to Ibn Shihab: 'And from the hump, he had cut off their humps.'" He said: "So I looked at a matter that horrified me." He said: "So I went to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and with him was Zayd b. Harithah, and I went out with him until he came to Hamzah." He said: "He became angry with him." He said: "Hamzah raised his eyes and said: 'Are you not but the slaves of my father?'" He said: "So the Messenger of God ﷺ retreated, walking backward away from him."
