✧ The sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while the people were with him. He stood a long standing, about the length of Surat al-Baqarah. Then he bowed a long bowing. Then he stood a long standing, but less than the first standing. Then he bowed a long bowing, but less than the first bowing. Then he prostrated. Then he did in the second rak'ah the like of that. Then he finished, and the sun had become clear. He said: 'The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah; they do not eclipse for the death of anyone nor for his life. So when you see that, remember Allah.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we saw you reach for something in your place, then we saw you draw back.' He said: 'I saw Paradise, or Paradise was shown to me, and I reached for a bunch (of grapes) from it. If I had taken it, you would have eaten from it as long as the world remains. And I saw the Fire, and I have never seen a sight like today. And I saw most of its inhabitants were women.' They said: 'Why, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Because of their ingratitude to their husbands.' Rawh said: 'And the husband is the spouse.' 'And because of their ingratitude for kindness. If you were to do good to one of them always, then she saw something from you, she would say: I have never seen any good from you.'
