✧ My father sent me to the Messenger of God ﷺ regarding some camels he had given him from the charity camels. When I came to him, it was the night of Maymunah, his maternal aunt. He went to the mosque and prayed Isha, then came to his house, threw off his garment, and entered with his wife in her clothes. Then I took my garment and wrapped myself in it, then lay down. I said: 'I will not sleep tonight until I see what the Messenger of God ﷺ does.' He slept until he snored, and when as much of the night passed as God willed, he got up and went out. He came to a tied waterskin or vessel, untied its cord, poured water on it, then pressed on the mouth of the waterskin and began washing his hands. He performed ablution until he finished. I wanted to get up and pour water for him. Then he stood up to pray, so I got up and did the same as he did. I stood on his left, and he took me and placed me on his right. He prayed thirteen rak'ahs, then lay down until Bilal came and called him to prayer. He got up and prayed two rak'ahs before Fajr.
