✧ The Prophet ﷺ came to Madinah and found the Jews fasting on the day of 'Ashura'. They were asked about that, and they said, 'This is the day on which Allah made Moses and the Children of Israel prevail over Pharaoh, so we fast it.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'We are more entitled to Moses than you.' So he commanded fasting on it.
