✧ What Abu Juhaifa narrated on the authority of Ali

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُخَرِّمِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: نَا يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

" مَنْ أَصَابَ فِي الدُّنْيَا حَدًّا، فَعُوقِبَ بِهِ فَاللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَعْدَلُ مِنْ أَنْ يُثَنِّيَ عُقُوبَتَهُ عَلَى عَبْدِهِ، وَمَنْ أَذْنَبَ ذَنْبًا فِي الدُّنْيَا، فَسَتَرَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَفَا عَنْهُ، فَاللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَكْرَمُ مِنْ أَنْ يَعُودَ فِي شَيْءٍ قَدْ عَفَا عَنْهُ

Translation

✧ Whoever commits a sin in this world and is punished for it, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is too just to repeat the punishment for His servant. And whoever commits a sin in this world and Allah conceals it and forgives him, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is too generous to return to something He has already forgiven.
