✧ He said: Ali b. Abi Talib ؓ entered after he had urinated, and he called for water for ablution. We brought him a vessel, and he took about a mudd. When it was placed before him, he said: O Ibn Abbas, shall I not perform ablution as I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform ablution? He said: I said: Yes. He said: He tilted the vessel over his hand and washed it three times, then rinsed his mouth, sniffed water into his nose, and blew it out. Then he took a handful of water with both hands and threw it onto his face, then the second time likewise, then the third time likewise. Then he inserted his thumbs into the front of his ears. Then he took a handful of water with his right hand and poured it over his forelock, then let it flow over his face. Then he washed his right hand up to the elbows, and the left likewise. Then he wiped his head and the backs of his ears. Then he took a handful of water with both hands and dashed it onto his feet, then the second time likewise, then the third time likewise.
